Velkommen.

George Hale is a contemporary artist based in Wigan, UK, known for his work in paintings and other mediums.
I create my paintings through a process of applying and then disrupting random brush marks on the canvas, allowing images to emerge through pareidolia-the mind ́s tendency to find meaning in abstract forms.
My imagination becomes a collaborator in this unfolding process, shaping characters, objects, and environments to bring each scene to life. The works serve as a reflection on my inner world, drawing on hidden thoughts or everyday experiences to spark their narratives. What results are images that oscillate between humor, menace, and playful ambiguity.

Spike Mclarrity is a perfomance artist based in London, UK. He explores identity and hybridity through costume. These are blurring boundaries to foster new insights and connections.
He is challenging norms and inviting transformation and self-expression.

Laila Riis is a sound designer, musician, composer and multi-media artist based in Brighton, UK. She is the artistic director of Partial Facsimile – Immersive Sound & Visual Art Collective.
Their work is research based and/or site-specific and emphasise on a spatial sonic experience, whether that is utilizing surround sound, 3D sound-systems or present their work binaurally on headphones. The soundscapes are often accompanied in conjunction with moving imagery, lighting design or performance. The audience members are in focus.
Miss Riis is currently researching a doctorate degree in 3D spatial audio and well-being.

El Winlove is a visual artist based in Hamar, known for her work in painting and other media. In her artistic practice, she seeks answers to questions such as: What makes an object visually appealing? Why is something perceived as "dead" and uninteresting, while something else immediately captures the eye?
Her works often feature elements that are initially not beautiful or delicate, yet strive to conceal the unrefined in the best possible way, frequently using bold, cheeky colors. The result is often lavish and flamboyant. She always infuses her expression with a good dose of humor, while a subtle seriousness simmers beneath the surface.

The Hybrids welcome you to their exhibition at Galleri EKG, Hamar, opening on October 11 at 18:00. The exhibition runs until November 2.
With Beyond the Phone, The Hybrids explore how the tactile, sensory, and physical are challenged and displaced by digital reality. The project operates on multiple levels – partly through the choice of materials used in painting, sculpture, textiles, animation, performance, and installation, and partly through a thematic deep-dive into how the smartphone shapes our perception of reality and interpersonal relationships.
How is our perception of reality affected when we spend large parts of the day behind a grey, matte screen?
Which parts of the physical world do we stop registering?
